Fresh peaches with a bowl of homemade vanilla ice cream is one of those golden memories from childhood that really does still live up to the memory. We like to make homemade ice cream in a lot of different ways, sometimes dairy-free with a coconut milk or nut milk base, or sometimes “nice-cream” out of frozen bananas. This version is the most like the childhood favorite, but sugar-free! It’s our favorite to share with friends on a summer evening.
Ingredients
- 1 pint organic heavy cream
- 1 pint raw grass-fed milk or organic whole milk
- 1/4 c real maple syrup (not high fructose corn syrup!)
- 1 tbsp raw honey
- 2 tsp vanilla
- pinch of real salt
- pinch of freshly ground nutmeg
Instructions
-
Blend all ingredients in your blender. Turn on your ice cream maker and pour in the ice cream mixture. Churn until completed, usually 15-20 minutes.
Recipe Notes
For pure heaven, serve with freshly sliced fruit.
